MELVILLE, New York\u2014Brett J. Harrison, Personal Injury Attorney, Founder & CEO of the Harrison Law Group, P.C., recently joined Award-Winning Actor, Filmmaker, and Entrepreneur Armando Leduc on the Spaghetti on the Wall podcast<\/a> to discuss business, relationships, and life.<\/p>\n

Leduc begins the interview by asking Harrison why he chose the competitive legal profession as a career. Harrison responds that everything worthwhile is competitive, noting that\u2019s why there are 1.3 million attorneys in the United States in various practice areas. \u201cMost people don\u2019t like attorneys, and you have jokes,\u201d Harrison says. \u201cBut you want us when you need us. It becomes very different when you want us and what to look for, the type of attorney you need, and what works best for you. With 1.3 million, there are a lot of options, especially when you can Google and try to figure out how to do something. You can e-how anything.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cCould you e-how law?\u201d Leduc asks.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can,\u201d Harrison responds, \u201cbut just because I read and spend a whole weekend learning about arthroscopic surgery on a knee or a shoulder doesn\u2019t mean come Monday, I\u2019m going to do it on my child. You can\u2019t teach experience, and that\u2019s what you\u2019re paying for. For most people, before they hire somebody, it\u2019s like sitting on the fence. \u2018Should I hire an attorney?\u2019 \u2018Should I not?\u2019 You ever sit on the fence too long? That is uncomfortable. When you\u2019re sitting on the fence, you\u2019re doing everything perfectly, which is nothing. So you\u2019ve got to fall to one side or another. When you do nothing, the pressure is on you because you know you\u2019re putting your head in the sand, and you\u2019re confused. You start stressing. You start losing sleep. That\u2019s where I come in. That\u2019s my job, to relieve stress. Doing personal injury isn\u2019t an interest; it\u2019s a commitment I\u2019ve made. And a commitment is long-term. You need to be committed. The difference is most people run from pressure. At my office, we run toward pressure because we need to relieve that off of you. That\u2019s how I look at it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIs that how you live life?\u201d Leduc follows up.<\/p>\n

\u201cI live life by doing action,\u201d Harrison explains. \u201cThere are two types of people: people who do things or talk about doing things. Either you\u2019re going to talk or do. Most people talk and offer excuses as to why they don\u2019t do things. We\u2019re all born in situations, better or worse. Once you stop making excuses, it\u2019s time to rock and roll. Let\u2019s get the job done.\u201d<\/p>\n

After discussing helpful time-management hacks, daily habits, a positive mindset, and the power of delegation, the interview takes a philosophical turn, with Harrison describing the importance of intention and why he\u2019s not interested in being average. Leduc later poses some thought-provoking questions, including, \u201cWhat do you think happens when we die?\u201d<\/p>\n
